Might be a good performance improvement mod and optifine alternative (smart leaves)

There's definitely a performance improvement as it should cut geometry by a lot, but it is not a straight alternative to smart leaves. It has a "hollow" mode, similar to the Cull Leaves mod, and two other "solid" and "solid aggressive". These make any inner leaves act like fast leaves, basically make trees or layers of leaves not see through, which while helps performance, kinda sucks for visuals.

Additionally, this mod requires another mod called Sodium Options API. It changes the Sodium config menu to be separated by mods but weirdly. For example, the leaf culling still shows up under the regular Sodium settings, among other options. It's a cool idea but I think it'd be better for Sodium to implement this themselves.
