Love this program. I've been using it for years to upload my music on YouTube. Unfortunately it's not working properly on the latest release of Linux Mint 22. It launches fine, allows me to select mpv or mp4 as usual. But when it's time to select files, all it shows is square blocks when opening my file system, similar to dingbats in MS Word. All files and folders are just square blocks and unreadable. I can still use it on my Windows computer (Shout out to Revision OS team lol). But it would be nice to run it on my laptop as well.

rendertune gibberish

Thank you for reporting this bug, linux support is a top priority, and I'll test this specific version of Linux Mint for this malformed text issue, do any of the audio/image input files you add have special characters?

Yes. When I click on the button that normally opens the file manager, all the files and folders are square blocks as well.

I haven't added anything as far as importing. Suppose I'll reinstall it and let you know. Misunderstood your question.

By "special characters" I meant characters such as this:

é

Which appears in this artist name:

Casselberry-DuPreé – City Down

Special characters is a case I'm working on supporting in RenderTune v2.0

No, not usually. I just use it to upload music I make in FL Studio on to YouTube. Most of the time it's "Image01" and a random name I give a song, none of which use special characters.

I'm thinking it's just Mint 22 that's having the problem. I've switched to Zorin 17.2, which also runs off Ubuntu and there's no issues with it. Likewise with LMDE6, which is Debian. Runs fine on both. It may be a bug on the Mint side rather than with Rendertune.

Thanks for the youtube video showing the error, that helps alot in the understanding, weather it's a mint error or not, I'll include linux mint testing for rendertune.

I've been hard at work on a complete re-write of RenderTune, I'm calling it RenderTune v2.0 and it's almost done, I'm going to continue focusing on finishing that, so I can release it ASAP.

Now, if only I could nudge you into making a music to .mp4 visualizer so I don't have to pay Videoboldt anymore. Such a feat would earn you a pretty damn big donation for your work. This, of course, isn't including all the sales you'd get from the Microsoft store. Plus the free advertising you'd get from me. Just a thought. No pressure lol

I do hope to feature some template system for custom visuals, do you have some examples of what you're thinking of?

Please test in newest pre-release build of RenderTune v2.0, aiming for a public release by end of the month.
