My Raspberry Pi is connected to a tv via hdmi. Every time I boot up Kano (v4.2.1) there is no audio. I go to the settings main menu and the audio section says it is set to hdmi. However, when I click to open the audio setting the radio button is set to Speaker and not TV. I switch it to TV and the audio then begins to work on the TV. I reboot when it asks me to but the same experience happens again. The setting to make the TV (hdmi) the default audio never saves correctly.

Did you ever resolved this? Having the same problem. Also changes to display/overscan does not persist.

Hi, try to add device number in the "/etc/asound.conf " file.
To get device number for the hdmi ,
use "aplay -l"
Then reboot . Check out the images
