Is this the right issue type?

  • Yes, I'm planning work for this project team.

Summary

It would be useful to run Relay without connecting to an upstream Task API. It would be useful for testing, or a kind of headless deployment, to just deploy it idly, and be able to call it’s POST task API.

This should be configurable with an environment variable

Related to #18

Acceptance Criteria

  • Relay can be configured to not poll a upstream API
  • Configured through an environment variable

Tasks

  • Task A.
  • Task B.
  • Unit tests.
  • Documentation.
