visibility changes made via the map layer settings are volatile

The script applies the changes (in the selection of visible om layers) made via the map layer settings, but those changes are lost when refreshing the page.
Changes made in the left column (sidebar?) are permanent, as expected.

Hey, this is actually a feature that was requested. The idea is that changes in the layers menu on the right are only temporary.

I must admit that this has caused quite a bit of head-scratching for other people in the past, so maybe I should consider changing it to be persistent changes instead. I think I'm not sure yet though. Maybe I'll introduce a poll in the OpenMaps script to see what people prefer.

So all options (in the layer menu and everywhere else) are persistent, except for OM? I do not believe that volatility is more useful for OM options than for the other options.
