We are thinking on using a commercial expandable polyurethane foam, to create an optimal environment for thermal insulation. It has better chemical resistance than expanded polystyrene (EPS, telgopor) and better insulation (higher R-value), although we should considered the aging effect that can affect polyurethane R-value over time.
