Permanent and electromagnetic quadrupole

Hi,

Does Impact-X support simulation with electromagnetic quadrupole separately or it is considered just like a permanent quadrupole ?

There is no difference in ImpactX between a quadrupole built from permanent magnets and a quadrupole built from electromagnets using coils. The code considers only the structure of the magnetic fields, and not the sources.

Note, however, that static electric quadrupoles are not currently supported. If this is a feature that you need, it can be added.
