We currently adjust the grid based on the particle min/max. While this is safe (in terms of data structures), it is unfavorable in terms of resolution control for the beam.
Instead, we should default to x-times RMS of the beam and cut off/remove/loose particles (e.g., into a numerical aperature #394#398) that are outside of the grid).
