Download the DeusEx.u file

Then copy the DeusEx.u file into your Deus Ex\System\ folder, which is probably C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Deus Ex\System (make a backup of the original DeusEx.u).

Installation Instructions for Lay D Denton

Download Lay D Denton version 1.1 or newer from here

Install Lay D Denton by copying all the files into your Deus Ex folder.

Download Deus Ex Randomizers's DeusEx.u file

Then copy Deus Ex Randomizers's DeusEx.u file into your Deus Ex\System\ folder, which is probably C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Deus Ex\System. This will overwrite the DeusEx.u file from Lay D Denton.

Installation Instructions for HX (Co-op)

Make sure to use the DeusEx.u file from the original game for co-op.

First download and install HX-0.9.89.4.zip from https://builds.hx.hanfling.de/testing/

Then copy HXRandomizer.u and HXRandomizer.int into the System directory of the game.

HXRandomizer is in early alpha testing and does not support all of the features that the single player vanilla randomizer has.

Changes

Reorganized Advanced menu into groups (expand for screenshots)

• We've renamed the difficulty choices to more accurately reflect how difficulty this game actually is. Easy is now Normal, Normal is now Hard, Hard is now Extreme, and Extreme is now Impossible. We also slightly increased the skill costs for the new lowest difficulty (Normal).

• Death Screen hints - these are somewhat case sensitive, depending on what level you're in and what settings you're using. Check here for the full list of hints in the code.
  

• Randomized Medbot healing amounts, Repair Bot recharge amounts, and also their cooldowns
  

• Added Remove Aug button to Medbots
  

• Options for limited-use Medbots and Repair Bots
  

• Augmenation cannisters now show what augs they have in their name
  

• Big buffs to vision enhancement aug and tech goggles. You can now see through walls even with just level 1 or the goggles. They also stack, so you can see farther with more goggles + the aug. Vision level 2 and higher allow you to see more things through walls, such as inventory items, electronic devices, and containers.
  
  

• Mission 9 weld points are now tracked in your Goals screen

• Tweaks to goals carrying over across missions

• Reduced The Merchant's prices

• Emergency Le Merchant (totally not the same guy as The Merchant) added to Paris just in case you really need a hazmat suit. You can kill him if you don't have the money, but he will defend himself.

• Fast forwarding infolinks when they stack up

• Removed some obsolete infolinks on Liberty Island

• Goal location randomization added to HX co-op

• Added another goal location for mission 11 (issue Add another Gunther location for Paris cathedral #202)

• Fixed an alliance trigger bug in mission 6 (issue funky alliances in hongkong underworld #208)

• Minor bugs with passwords (issues Fix password autofill for 12_vandenberg_computer #200 and Fix area 51 page password #201)

• Minor fix for mission 14 goal location randomization bug (issue Failed to move Howard strong #196)

• Fix for possible large crates blocking your path in mission 9 (issue shipyard bad crate placement #193)
