Re-implementing OMR search in Cantus Ultimus

Starting this discussion to record some of the initial investigations related to getting OMR search up and running. The hope is that findings recorded here will lead to the development of specific issues that can be developed against.

MEI Storage

• MEI was stored in the file system (in .mei files and .csv files)
• Management commands convert between file formats and provided upload to solr

  • See https://github.com/DDMAL/cantus/blob/main/app/public/cantusdata/management/commands/import_mei_data.py for conversion and import scripts.
  • The management command calls helpers for mei conversion in https://github.com/DDMAL/cantus/tree/main/app/public/cantusdata/helpers/mei_conversion
