No sound over HDMI on non native resolutions

If I select the game with renderer CNC-DDraw and resolution 1280x720 there is sound in the menu but not in game
If I select the same settings but resolution 1920x1080 there is sound in game (both Skirmish and online)
If I select the game with windowed mode it will work with sound and resolution 720p.
If I select fullscreen client on native resolution but game

This has something to do with modesetting. I tried the "buffer video" option but this does not make a change.

It does not matter if you choose Intel Graphics Driver 27 or later. Bug applies to all driver versions.

Yes, all of them.

Does this still occur? Many new updates have been applied to the game/client since this issue was originally raised?
