Unable to delete image. It is referenced by another resource.

Running the latest panamax on OSX Yosemite and tried to add some docker images albeit unsuccessfully. In trying to delete the images to start over I get the error

Unable to delete image. It is referenced by another resource.
The image may be referenced by a running container. You may only delete an image when all associated containers have been stopped. Docker may have removed the image tag and renamed the image ':' in an attempt to delete it.
The image may be tagged in multiple repositories. An image may only be deleted when it belongs to only one repository.

What can I do to remove the image
