Tor Browser dies on start with no error message or log #2704
Comments
Hello there 👋 Please respond as soon as possible if a Pi-Apps maintainer requests more information from you. Stale issues will be closed after a lengthy period of time with no response. |
Please go to Pi-Apps, find the command to run Tor in a terminal, and run that in a terminal to get errors. |
I did. It still just quietly does without an error.

Okay, in that same terminal, trey running tor and after it exits back to the prompt, run echo $?. The output from this should be a number, 0 or 1.

Hi! Yeah, I tried running Tor as root (Sudo) and got a nasty pop-up saying that Tor should not be run as root!

hey, thats unfortunate, and the Tor browser not opening and app Permission changes like, straight up not working, limits stuff i know. although, do you have a diffrent micro-sd card? thanking the rasperry-gods they included the pi-imager in the OS. if you do have one, install the 64-bit version of your current OS. As far as im aware, som ARM chips have limitations, wich makes running a 32-bit OS on a 64bit SoC, will make issues somwhere. (The maximum Efficency of these SoC's may be to blame) Warning: i could be wrong, but if you do have a second micro-sd card and time, i think that it is worth a try |
