What

A request came in to hide the number of subscribers when visitors sign up via email through the Action Bar. Currently, customers with a Premium plan and higher can use CSS to hide the Action Bar completely, but that seems like an outsized and exclusionary solution.

It looks like Substack already has a feature to hide subscriber count.

User ticket: #8755529-zen

Why

This will provide users with more control over their site, especially as they're just starting out with building an audience.

The existence of the Action Bar has come into question here: #96202

@simison and @davemart-in is this feature request worth keeping open? Depending on the path taken with the Action Bar, this might be relevant if we choose to keep it.

The request is to remove the line that displays the number of subscribers like this:

The other question becomes, what about users who like this number being displayed? So it might be more a matter of making it an optional setting?

I suspect the action bar will get a complete overhaul in 2025. As a part of that we could totally consider adding an option for this.

Thanks @davemart-in . We'll mark this as triaged then and keep the issue.
