The default patterns and templates use a font size(s) that is not a reusable variable that can be edited in the style editor or elsewhere. I believe you can only change it in code.
This is poor user experience because instead of using the style editor to change the default font size once and apply everywhere, you must select each text block individually on your page and override the font size with one of the provided presets. Once a preset is selected, you can change the settings of the preset, which is the ideal experience.

@davewhitley could you share which templates/pattern, or better yet drop a screenshot? I looked over the default homepage template and didn't see custom font sizes being used.

Here's a video showing what I mean. The main title of the homepage, buttons, and several paragraphs don't use a text size variable that is accessible to the user. It would be a better experience if these elements used one of the provided text styles (small, medium, large, extra large). For example, instead of changing the text size of the paragraphs I see on the homepage (and across the site) with one edit, I have to apply one of the provided text styles to each paragraph individually.
