Does speakersafetyd need to be run as root?

Hello,

does speakersafetyd need to be run as root, or could it also be run as a less privileged user? Say under a user speakersafetyd and group speakersafetyd that is in the audio group). I tried running speakersafetyd as my normal user account and it seems to work.

It could not write to

• /run/speakersafetyd.flag

but apart from that it seems to be functional. Maybe the path to that flag could also be made configurable?
