Currently supported version per pyproject.toml are Python 3.8 - 3.10. In v3.1.0 we updated our testing workflow to test 3.9 - 3.12; we should deprecate support for Python 3.8 and explicitly call out support for 3.11 and 3.12 in pyproject.toml and in our conda-forge recipie.

Support for Python 3.9-3.12 was implemented with the v4.0.0 release in Nov 2023. Support for 3.9 was dropped in v7.0.0 in Jun 2024. Currently supported versions are 3.10-3.12.
