This was specifically in the context of storing IPTC in XMP, but some more general guidance may be useful along with example files.

For example:

How do I store IPTC in AVIF?
How do I store IPTC-IIM in AVIF? (You can't, convert it to IPTC and store as XMP.)
There are duplicated tags between Exif and XMP. Do we have guidance on which Exif tags should be stored as Exif and which should be stored as XMP?
