Real time number plate detection using openalpr

  • opening a gate using arduino uno and python

  • Debian 10 Buster Support

  • some packages may not required. but in my process of compiling opencv, openalpr packages, i faced so many source compiling interruptions. so i included all solutions here to run a smooth compilation without a single error.

OPENALPR Compiling Instructions

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade ( proceed with caution : | upgrade all ur packages if the kernal fresh)

cd /usr/local/src
mkdir openalpr

nano CMakeLists.txt

add these lines

SET(Tesseract_DIR "/usr/local/src/openalpr/tesseract-ocr")
cmake ./
make
sudo make install

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt autoremove

--caution------only run this if u get libopenalpr.so.2 errors ----- sudo apt-get install libopenalpr-dev dont install other additional dependencies, just run and cancel


pip install numpy
