Request:- Custom Rebranding and app name

This fork of vi music has came to be the one of the most stable branch, wouldn't it be a good idea to give it a custom name and rebranding?!!
this may include

1. Updated Readme.md (like added features of this branch, like this repo https://github.com/aniyomiorg/aniyomi )
2. New app name
3. New icon
4. Etc...

You can achieve those by creating a new discussion about name/icon in GitHub repo

This rebranding will give this repo it's Unique essence and attract a wider userbase who are migrating from official repo

Not a bug, so removed that part from the issue. I think it is a good idea (and now that I think of it I maybe have to actually make a 'How to migrate' wiki), however, I do not know how far we can take this license-wise, because I'm not the original maintainer/owner of the project/product. I think as long as we credit the original maintainer/owner (@vfsfitvnm), I think we are OK.

The upstream repo is using GPL 3 license which means the whole repo is copyleft and we have full authority to Rebrand/Share that software
so we are good in terms of license and all

Hey I was just scrolling GitHub until i found this repo

The playstore version (https://play[.]google[.]com/store/apps/details?id=com.voxify ) is basically InnerTune app published by a third person for his own personal profits, I've reported it (all the apps in his accounts seems to be exact copy of the opensource apps)

anyways we can take that name since he doesn't own anything from that app

I agree. This repo is way ahead of vfsfitvnm, while he doesn't seem to be active. For the new name, I would keep the "music spirit", though. How about VTunes/ViTunes/VTify/ViTify?

Now that I think of it: migration is currently not the best user experience, because you have to delete the original app. If we want to fix this, I have to change the application ID, but that means that everyone who already uses this fork cannot update their currently installed app.

Any ideas of how we want to resolve this?

There are possible ways this can be achieved
Method 1:-

• if you found out a way to export the app's cache (including song) into external storage, then push the update to this repo so that people will export and migrate.

Method 2:-

• You introduce an download/cache feature that automatically downloads playlist/songs ,etc with one tap. (this feature is available in yet another fork of ViMusic -->Rimusic but it's kinda buggy and lags the overall application experience)

Method 3:-

• If the above option is not feasible then there exists an alternative way to load old songs, i.e. to export the current data using existing backup feature of app, also make a playlist or Favorite a song before exporting (you'll get it afterwards).
• then installing the new/rebranded version of this app and importing data. This will restore the whole app but the song cache will be gone so to regenerate the cache users have to use the following trick (this is the trick i used when i switched over to this repo).
• Download an autoclicker app (i used this one)

• Setup the custom key configuration like the screenshot below

• Choose your playlist /Favorite's and hit run. basically it caches the sound by seeking on to the bar but automatically. this will depend upon the playlist length (i.e. no. of songs).
• after 20~30 min all your songs will be cached. but some will be left by a little percentage. make a new keybind but this time keeping taps far, and run again (SS below)

• This method takes time but works.

Hope this made you find a step closer to the solution of the problem ,i'm not a wiki writer but i hope i've done my part well explaining it.
The rebranding situation is inevitable if you delay it now it has to come in near future with even more userbase, the quicker we act the better the outcome will be

Any ideas for a new logo? I'm really bad at designing logo's so I'm kinda hoping on some input from you guys.

Current ideas for the new name:

I think I can throw a poll in here, but I'm afraid GitHub then wants me to create a separate discussion, oh well...
